I've always been fascinated with coding and morose the extremely popular, pix-elated adventure game know as 'Minecraft'. So what's better than Minecraft and coding you ask? Interactively learning how Mojang developers code the game of Minecraft!

The website code.org offers an interactive program called 'Hour of Code' pertaining to the game Minecraft, where users explore how the game is built by using rather basic strings of code and are able to perform tasks where they control a character in the game and learn how a specific action is run by a piece of specific code that makes the task possible.

Being a programming novice, I struggled a lot initially to grasp the basic concepts of coding, it took me a few minutes to wrap my head around what I had to do, this lead to many failed attempts when it came time to perform tasks using code to guide my character.

After falling flat on my face too many times to count, I finally managed to turn a corner after realizing coding is not a book, but rather a sequence of sentences put together. I had my first taste of success.

I quickly put my slow start behind me and completed the course in the blink of an eye. It was quite intriguing to learn exactly how the developers of the world's most popular PC game, Minecraft, build their game. This experience has inspired me to start learning how to code proficiently and hopefully attempt to build a useful app or script in the near future.
