CAS Activity-5 Reflection
My school, 'The Indian Public School' in a collaboration with a few other reputable school in the city of Coimbatore, arranged a rally in the heart of the city in support of saving female infants, who in India, on average face a significantly greater risk of being aborted by their parents.
The rally lasted almost a whole hour and despite the rather serious topic at hand the event felt quite upbeat, with groups of students initiating anti-abortion chants and carrying signs to raise awareness for young girls in the city Coimbatore.
The school's supervisors made sure that we, the students stayed on course and encouraged us when we seemed to be lacking energy.
After the rally the students gathered at one the participating school's ground to cool of with a few refreshments. Marching through the city's blistering afternoon heat was extremely unpleasant, but it worth it for a great cause.
To conclude, the anti-abortion rally really opened my eyes to the world around me. Not everybody is treated fairly, in some cases infants aren't even given a chance to live based solely on their gender. India is a rapidly developing country that needs to make a stand against discrimination, not for me or for you, but for the next generation of great Indians.
